And it's about time! I've been here for two full weeks, and I am more than ready for classes to start. I will be taking three classes. Intro to Sociology, Professional Writing for Work, and Behaviors and Aspects of Sport and Exercise. All three will transfer back to Iowa State, and all three will help me advance in my degree!
The past week has been really slow. We had a four day heat wave of 100-102 degree weather, and the heat finally broke today! I made the stupid decision to walk two miles one way to a post office to mail some postcards in the middle of the afternoon. In my defense I was bored and really wanted to make sure they got mailed. Luckily I was able to catch a bus back, but that's the last time I'll ever attempt that. Saturday I went to Jan Juc Beach with Nina (a Kinesiology student from Canada) and some of her housemates. The water was clear and SO beautiful! The waves were perfect for surfing, and we saw quite a few riding the waves. This week I am going to look into buying a used or cheap surfboard, because I definitely would've been surfing if I could.
These next photos I took a couple weeks ago, but until tonight my camera was being funny and not wanting to upload them to my computer. They're just some glimpses around this beautiful campus! (The koala is courtesy of my secret santa from my dorm at Iowa State)
Stay warm! I promise I'm sending (or trying to send) warm vibes your way. This Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent with Ash Wednesday. I always love Ash Wednesday because it means Lent is beginning and Easter is coming! Not only is Easter such a significant holiday, but it also means that spring and warm weather is on its way! The warm weather isn't such a concern for me this year, but it helps me every year and hopefully can help you too. :)
